One Month Old!!

Lucas is doing wonderfully! The first month has treated him VERY well. He has grown to 23 inches long (from 21") and 12 pounds, 2 ounces (from 8lbs 8oz). This puts him in the 90th percentile for height, and 97th for weight. We've got a big strong boy on our hands...

And he is growing stronger everyday....

Showing off his stength during tummy time!

Becoming more and more alert.

Always watching us.

and loving bath time!

Visit from Grandpa...

Grandpa Steve came to visit all the way from New Zealand last week, making a very special introduction. I have to tell on grandpa, he had tears in his eyes when he held Lucas for the first time. Lucas seemed pretty happy to meet him. We also got to visit Lucas's great grandparents, bringing 4 generations together.

3 Weeks Old...

Lucas is 3 weeks old, and growing more adorable everyday. The eyes are growing bluer, he watches you and follows movement, and he is so alert. He weighed in this morning at 10lbs, 4 oz. What a beautiful growing boy!!

Counting Days...

Lucas is 17 days old, and it just dawned on me that the counting of days will shortly turn to weeks and months. It's amazing to watch this little boy grow before our eyes. He is much more alert when he is awake, about 2-3 hours in the morning, and a couple hours again at night. And he seems to be growing daily, we are trying our best not to miss a thing :-)

2 Weeks Old!!!

Lucas Dylan is now 2 weeks old, and his favorite past time this past couple days is sleeping, second only to eating... and definitely growing. I think I notice a double chin forming, and there is a lot more pudge on those cute little arms and legs.

Time Flies...

It's hard to believe just how quickly a day can go by, hours just melting away. We've been home for 9 days now, and Lucas is 11 days old. He has evolved daily, becoming more and more alert, and more captivating. Jimmy, Lucas, and I have been enjoying the time home getting used to the new family. Jimmy goes back to work tomorrow. Lucas and I will miss him!!

Great Grandparents are something to be grateful for...

Thanksgiving was very special this year. Lucas got to meet his great grandparents, Mary and Clay LeFebvre, who came from Connecticut to share Thanksgiving. Great Uncle Mike even brought a turkey to make it easier for Jim and I. It was a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

There is so much to be grateful for this holiday season. Lucas being first and foremost, but the support from our Family and Friends has been wonderful and we are extremely grateful for all of you!! May you all enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Lots of love to all!! -The Murphy's.

Day Four... at home with the Murphy's

We are on our second day at home, enjoying our moments with Lucas. He had his first doctor check up today, and was giving a clean bill of health. He is doing very well. He is the same weight he was a birth, which is really good, b/c many babies lose weight in their first days. Sleeping in 2-3 hour stretches, with one 4 hour stretch last night. Mom was very happy about that. Mostly we just spend our time staring at Lucas in awe. He's just too cute!!

Lucas Dylan Murphy

Introducing... Lucas Dylan Murphy. Arrived November 21, 2008, at 1:43pm. He weighed in at 8lbs, 8 oz, and stretched to 21 inches long. He is absolutely beautiful, but then again, we are a little biased. Labor was long, 21 hours, but mom and dad are recovering well from the excitement and the drain. Lucas is a great eater, but he does not love sleeping too much, hoping he catches on to that soon! We are home and settling in now. Lots of Love to all. -Vanessa, Jim, and Lucas.
